This coin roll hunt features two (2) boxes of Half Dollars. $1000 of coins to hunt, 2000 chances to find either 90% silver or 40% silver. And SPOILER ALERT: We find silver. Not just 1 piece but several. Normally that would be the main feature of the hunt, but this time the Silver finds were eclipsed with Proof Coin finds. We hit a collection dump for sure.
A Proof coin is a coin struck using a special, high-quality minting process to produce coins, especially for collectors. The term “proof” refers to the coin’s finish. Proof blanks are specially treated, hand-polished, and cleaned to ensure high-quality strikes. The blanks are then fed into presses fitted with specially polished dies and struck at least twice.
