The Ikshvaku A became independent in the eastern Deccan (modern-day Telangana and Andhra Pradesh) from the Satvahana and established their capital at Nagarjuna Konda (Vijayapuri) around 227 AD. Their kingdom was eventually annexed by the Pallava in the 4th century.
