The day when we are uploading this video i.e. 12 March has great historical importance of Indian Freedom Struggle. It is the Dandi March Date. Yes, it was this day back then in 1930 when Mahatma Gandhi Dandi March started from Sabarmati Ashram, Ahmedabad along with his followers to Dandi Gaon. The video provides a brief Dandi March Information in the video.
The iconic portrait of Dandi March or Dandi Yatra or Dandi Satyagraha can be seen in many Indian Banknotes. However, in this video sharing with the complete details of those two Commemorative Coins of India that have Dandi March theme associated with them. In the year 2005 , 5 Rs coin was issued to commemorate 75 Years of Dandi March. Dandi March coins were issued in Ferritic Stainless Steel and Copper Nickel Metal Composition, the details of which have been minutely discussed in the video. Most important, the Copper Nickel Issue of 5 Rs Coin Dandi March 2005 is very rare to get and is considered as one of the Rarest 5 Rs coins of India in Commemorative category.
In 1997, 50 Paisa coins was issued to commemorate 50 Years of Indian Independence but unique thing about this coin was that this coin too had portrait of ‘Dandi March’ on it. All the details of this old 50 Paise coin has been discussed in the video.
