This is a story of a Pattern coin of 1 Rupee issued in 1960. It has the denomination of Sau Naye Paise (= 100 New Paisa).
This Pattern Coin was issued in continuation of the Naye Paise series of Decimal coins. It was meant to educate people about the new exchange rate of 1 Rupee = 100 New Paise. However, these coins could never be meant for circulation. Only 2 of such coins are known so far.
