This video of Chillar Gyan introduces you all to one of the Rare 2 Rs Coin of Commemorative Coins of India. In one of our videos we have already seen rare 2 Rupee Coin of Subhash Chandra Bose 1996 but the reason it became rare was due to the error in date. However, the rare Two Rupee Coin that we have shown and discussed in detail in this video became rare due to its low mintage and very less seen in circulation.
This rare 2 Rs coin was issued by Govt. of India on completion of 75 Years of Indian Airforce which means on the occasion Platinum Jubilee of Indian Airforce. History of Indian Air Force goes back to 8th October 1932 when it was first established in India as an auxiliary Air force under the name Royal Indian Air Force. Post India became Republic in the year 1950 the prefix ‘Royal’ was removed and till date it is known as ‘Indian Air Force’. In the year 2007 Indian Air Force completed its 75 years and to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee of Indian Air Force, this 2 Rs Coin on Indian Air Force was issued.
