This video introduces you to 100 Rs. coin of India. 100 Rs coin was issued in Proof Set with 10 Rs coin to commemorate Centenary of Mahatma Gandhi’s Return from South Africa, 1915-2015. Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (Non-Resident Indian Day) is also celebrated to commemorate return of Mahatma Gandhi from South Africa to Ahmedabad on 9 January 1915.
The 10 Rs coin in the proof set is also one of the 14 types of 10 rupees(as per 2019) coin issued for general circulation. However, 100 Rs Mahatma Gandhi coin is never issued for general circulation. This is a 100 Rs silver coin made of 50% silver metal. These coins are one of the Rare Commemorative Coins of India. This new 100 Rs coin was issued in the year 2015.
